A close up view of fruits of bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.). Bilberry is naturally grown in the coastal area of Black Sea region in Turkey. Although there is no scientific work on local types/varieties of the plant in Turkey, it is estimated that there are at least 8 subspecies of Vaccinium myrtillus in the region.
