Descriptions : Turkish Mersin (Myrtus communis) ortalama 3m, bazen 4-5 m'ye kadar boylanabilen yapraklarını dökmeyen bir makilik bitkisidir. Ülkemizde Akdeniz ve Karadeniz sahillerine bakan makilik yamaçlarda doğal olarak yetişir. Temmuz- Ağustos aylarında hoş kokulu beyaz çiçekler açar. Ekim-Kasım aylarında olgunlaşan meyveleri yeşilimsi beyazdan mora ve siyaha değişir. Arılar tarafından tozlaşma yoluyla kendine dölleyen çiçekleri hermafrodittir. Açık güneşli ortamları, hafif kumlu, kuru ve direnajlı toprakları tercih eder. Deniz etkisine dayanıklıdır. Güneyde, özellikle Adana yöresinde "murt" veya "hambeles" olarak da bilinen mersinin meyveleri yemiş olarak tüketilir.
English Myrtle (Myrtus communis) is an evergreen scrub plant that can grow up to 4-5 m, 3 m in average. Scrub grows naturally on the maquis slopes overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea coast of Turkey. Fragrant white flowers bloom in July-August. The color of berries ripening in October and November change from greenish white to purple and black. Flowers that pollinate itself by bees are hermaphrodite. They prefer clear sunny environments, light sandy and dry and drained soils. They are resistant to the effect of the sea. Berries that known as “murt” or “hambeles” in Adaqna are consumed In the south.
German Myrte (Myrtus communis) ist eine immergrüne Macchia-Pflanze, die bis zu 4-5 m, 3 m im Durchschnitt wachsen kann. Gestrüpp wächst natürlich an den Hängen des Macchia mit Blick auf das Mittelmeer und Schwarzes Meer Küste der Türkei. Duftende weiße Blüten blühen im Juli-August. Die Farbe der Beeren Reifen im Oktober und November Wechsel von Grünlich-weiß zu Lila und schwarz. Blüten, die sich durch Bienen bestäubt sind Zwitter. Sie bevorzugen klare sonnige Umgebungen, leichte Sandy und Trocknen und durchlässige Böden. Sie sind beständig gegen die Wirkung des Meeres. Beeren, die bekannt als "Murt" oder "Hambeles" in Adaqna im Süden verbraucht werden.
